Flood lights launch at BMX track

The Western Lakes Cycling Club will hold a launch at the cycling centre, Kilmaine road Ballinrobe, on Monday November 22 at 8pm, for the official switching on of the BMX floodlights. Cllr Michael Burke, Cathaoirleach Mayo County Council, will officially switch on the lights at the BMX track

The latest leg of the Mayo Sports Partnership Cycle for Fun series will take place in south Mayo on September 12. The event is being organised by Western Lakes Cycling Club, and is suitable for everybody, even if you haven’t been on a bike for years. The spin is a 20km cycle from Ballinrobe to Ashford Castle and back again.

Cycling for all events lined up around the county

This week Western Lakes Cycling Club launched its three main events of the year in Inches Bar, Ballinrobe. Over the past five years these events have grown from strength to strength, and Western Lakes CC hopes that this year will be no different. The three events are the Polkadot leisure cycle challenge which will be held on July 18, the Ballinrobe two day event on August 7 and 8, and the Mayo Sports Partnership cycle to the castle on September 12 which will be part of the Mayo cycle for fun series. Lough Mask cycle challenge open to all

Allow yourself to rediscover the joys of cycling by taking part in a fun event that is suitable for all levels of cycling ability – the fourth annual Lap of the Mask cycle on Saturday, May 15. Participants in this event will complete a circuit of Lough Mask at their own pace, while enjoying the natural beauty of the area. So if you need something to motivate you to get fit, why not come along on the day.

Activity day in aid of Haiti

A fun activity day in aid of the Goal Haiti appeal will take place on February 7 in Clonbur, Co Galway, where you are asked to walk, run or cycle Mount Gable.
